Designing a Project Management Portal and Widgets
Designing project management tools for Sparkjoy Studios to help them track and manage their client projects.
Overview
Sparkjoy Studios, a web design and development firm, specializes in client-focused projects and ongoing retainer services. Initially, the agency relied on a combination of traditional communication methods, including face-to-face meetings, emails, phone calls, and video conferencing. However, this approach proved to be disjointed, impersonal, and counterproductive.
To overcome these obstacles, I spearheaded the creation of a project management portal called Pantegral. This portal was designed to streamline virtual B2B interactions, offering Sparkjoy and similar agencies a unified, user-friendly platform for effective client collaboration and project sharing.
Below are mockups of a few project management components and their states.
Description Component
The text overview component offers incredible versatility! Admins can customize the title and text, making it perfect for providing instructions, adding non-editable notes for clients, sharing overview information, and much more.
Contact Component
The contact component helps admins and clients know who are on a particular project. Contact details include Name, Title, Email, Phone, but can also include other information depending on the project.
Admins may edit and delete any user's information. They can also add new or existing clients and staff to a project. On the other hand, clients may only edit their own account details.
Project Information Component
The Project Information component can only be seen by admins. This helps them set various things for the project such as the title of the project, status, and dates. More settings can be added to this component depending on the project requirements.
Template Visibility Component and Locking Component
The Template Visibility Component allows admins to set which sections of the portal are visible to the clients in a given project. For example, if a project does not have a Content phase, they may choose to uncheck that box to hide that section from a client.
Similarly, the Workspace Locking Component allows admins to lock sections for the client so they may not edit it any further. For example, if the clients are in the design phase of a project, the admins may choose to lock the next stages so that clients cannot access them until the design phase is completed.
